BurgerFi Hosts Children in Need for Feeding South Florida’s Hunger Action Month
Fast casual BurgerFi recently partnered with Feeding South Florida, the leading domestic hunger relief organization in South Florida, and HomeSafe, a Feeding South Florida partner agency dedicated to protecting victims of child abuse and domestic violence, to host 28 children and 11 volunteers for lunch at their City Place, West Palm Beach restaurant.
“We jumped at the opportunity to host Feeding South Florida and HomeSafe,” says Daniel Collins, certified franchise executive, BurgerFi. “It’s a great way to not only serve these amazing kids a delicious lunch, but to also do our part in supporting Feeding South Florida’s mission to end hunger in South Florida.”
BurgerFi, known for their dedication to high quality food and environmentally friendly best practices, served visiting children the chain’s signature all-natural hamburgers and fresh cut fries while they enjoyed playing and mingling in BurgerFi’s West Palm Beach CityPlace restaurant.
“Thanks to the generosity of BurgerFi, Feeding South Florida was able to provide a fun experience for the clients we serve at our partner agency, Home Safe,” says Paco Velez, president and chief executive officer at Feeding South Florida. “BurgerFi’s partnership is the perfect example of how the community and food industry can come together to address the critical issue of hunger in South Florida.”
In addition to hosting children for a special lunch, BurgerFi also collected nearly $3,000 for Feeding South Florida at eight of it’s locations. Funds raised will provide 18,000 meals for those struggling to put food on the table.
