General Food Distribution

Feeding South Florida goes beyond just providing food. We ensure its quality food that meets Feeding America’s healthy food standards known as “Food to Encourage” or “F2E.” More than 70% of Feeding South Florida’s food distributed is considered F2E – food that’s aligned with MyPlate nutrition standards.

Produce Program

As the largest nonprofit provider of produce in the state, ensuring families have access to fresh and nutritious food is our priority. Our Mobile Pantry Program brings fruits and vegetables to areas known as food deserts – low-income neighborhoods that lack access to affordable and healthy food. This program sets up farmer’s market style distributions to ensure families have a choice when selecting their produce.

Retail Store Donation

We’re fortunate to partner with nearly 500 retail stores who donate their excess perishable items to families in need of assistance. Whether we pick-up directly or send one of our program-enabled partner agencies to “rescue” food, we’re reducing food waste while also ending hunger. Our partners include Publix, Target, Walmart, Winn Dixie, BJs, Costco, Fresh Market, and more!

Emergency Food Assistance Programs (TEFAP)

This food distribution program is a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) commodities program designed to provide low-income families with supplemental nutrition during emergency situations. Feeding South Florida is a contracted distributor of TEFAP commodities in Monroe County. View Non-Discrimination Statement, here.
