The CW’s Inside South Florida: Take a look inside Feeding South Florida’s Client Choice Pantry

Inside South Florida Client Choice Pantry

WSFL South Florida — Continuing our partnership with Feeding South Florida, this week we got to take a look at the organizations Choice Pantry. This special pantry is set up similarly to a grocery store and allows those in need to choose the items they need.

Paco Velez, president and CEO of Feeding South Florida, says that pre-COVID families were able to shop around the pantry and choose the items they wanted to take home. The space includes a freezer and refrigerator which allows for families to pick up perishable items. In another section there are multiple hygiene items, including toothpaste, soap and deodorant.

The pantry truly caters to families by including a toy section for those who come in with their children.

Due to COVID the shopping process has changed, but the pantry is still open. Those in need can view a menu of the items available and then a staff member fulfills their order for them.

The center also offers assistance with signing up for benefits such as SNAP, WIC, or even Florida Kid Care. If you or someone you know can benefit from this, you can go to their website here, or call them at 954-518-1818.
