How We Work
We care about people. We do this by nourishing families with healthy food, uniting the community around hunger and poverty issues, and helping families achieve household stability.
Our Role In The Community
Feeding South Florida teams up with approximately 300 nonprofit partner agencies throughout Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties.
Our partner agencies are food pantries, soup kitchens, group homes, shelters, child care centers, and more. Last year, in addition to our direct-service programs, our agencies helped provide food to over 1.1 million individuals.

More than 70 billion pounds of good, safe food goes to waste each year in the United States alone. The loss occurs at every stage of the food system from farmers to packers and shippers, to manufacturers and retailers. That’s where we come in.

In addition to supporting partner agencies, Feeding South Florida also serves families directly. We provide food, benefits assistance, and will offer programs that are aimed at breaking the cycle of hunger and poverty.

Flow of Food
Feeding South Florida® is a regional food bank serving approximately 250 nonprofit partner agencies throughout Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties. Our partner agencies are food pantries, soup kitchens, group homes, shelters, child care centers, and more. Last year, in addition to our direct-service programs, our agencies helped provide food to over 1.1 million individuals.
We “rescue” food from retail stores, farmers, manufacturers, companies, and food drives, making more than 500 pick-ups per week.
We ensure the safe and reliable transportation of food in our all-refrigerated fleet ranging in size from 26’ to 53’.
We adhere to strict food safety and other governance guidelines. We inspect food before it’s distributed, and also ensure partner agency adherence to governance standards.
Emergency food is provided to families in need through our network of nonprofit partner agencies and Feeding South Florida direct‑service programs.
