Children’s Programs

When children have the nutrition they need, they thrive in the classroom and beyond. Feeding South Florida provides year-round access to nutritious food for children, youth, and families across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe Counties. Through our school-based programs, mobile distributions, college pantries, and USDA meal programs, we help ensure no child goes to bed hungry.

Together, with your help, we’re #FeedingFutures

School Pantry Program (SPP)

School personnel have long noted that many children go without food between Friday’s lunch and Monday’s breakfast. Hunger is directly linked to poor academic performance, behavioral challenges, and health issues. To help close this gap, Feeding South Florida places food pantries inside schools, offering nutritious groceries for the entire family. These pantries provide choice and variety, including fresh produce and shelf-stable items, as well as access to benefits assistance and healthy recipes.

Feeding South Florida operates food pantries on college campuses to support students who are food-insecure while pursuing their education. Students can access groceries, hygiene items, and fresh produce, helping them stay focused on academic success.

Afterschool Meals Program (AMP/CCFP)

Through a partnership with the Florida Department of Health, Feeding South Florida provides nutritious afterschool meals that are low in sugar, fat, and sodium. Many underserved children rely on school meals as their primary source of nutrition, meaning the food they receive after school can be the difference between going to bed hungry and going to bed with a full stomach. Our Afterschool Meals Program offers balanced snacks and suppers to children in qualifying programs, supporting their academic success, physical activity, and overall well-being.
