Feeding Palm Beach County

Feeding South Florida has served Palm Beach County since 1989. Previously occupying the former Cheney Brothers facility off Claremore Drive in West Palm Beach (built in the early 1900s), Feeding South Florida needed a larger and more modern facility to meet the growing demands of the community.

In 2016, Feeding South Florida invested in a new location, thereby solidifying its commitment to Palm Beach County. This new branch location, Feeding Palm Beach County, is conveniently located off I-95 and Gateway Boulevard, across from the Publix Distribution Center. The facility itself is 25,344 sq. ft. and has an additional two acres of land for future expansion.

As the largest provider of emergency food assistance in each county we serve, Feeding Palm Beach County is designed to serve Palm Beach County’s current and future food system needs.

Warehouse Capacity

Installation of a new cooler/freezer, approximately 3,000 sq. ft. will enable us to store more than 200 pallets under air. That means more fresh produce, lean protein, and dairy for our families struggling to make ends meet.

Ability to install three-tier racking for optimal utilization of space and implementation of inventory best practices to ensure first in, first out (FIFO).

Two covered bay doors with space for tractor/trailers.

Volunteer Opportunities

Feeding Palm Beach County offers 10 volunteer shifts per week and can accommodate up to 20 people per shift (during COVID). Great for large groups and corporate team-building activities, we have two shifts per day, Tuesday-Saturday. We welcome individual volunteers as well, age 12+ with special family Philanthropy Days for kids 6+.

Feeding South Florida's Community Kitchen

More than a distribution center, Feeding Palm Beach County’s kitchen is designed to help break the cycle of hunger and poverty by addressing the underlying root causes.

The Community Kitchen is a commercial kitchen designed to serve five purposes:

Culinary Training: Provide a culinary training program with job placement upon graduation, in partnership with our hospitality partners.

Social Enterprise: Provide catering services that employ graduates of the culinary training program. Revenue is reinvested in the culinary training program.

Incubator: Provide the commercial facilities necessary for a catering company. Graduates of the culinary training program looking to open their own business can access the commercial kitchen.
