Feeding South Florida, a domestic hunger-relief organization, was awarded the Non-Profit Business of the Year distinction by South Florida Business Journal at the April 21 Business of the Year dinner awards program at the InterContinental Hotel in Miami.

Feeding South Florida distributes almost 40 million pounds of food annually, serving 785,040 individuals in need of food assistance; 280,630 children, and 150,000 adults, throughout Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

“We are honored to have won the Non-Profit Business of the Year award from South Florida Business Journal,” Paco Vélez, CEO of Feeding South Florida, said in a statement. “To be recognized among many extraordinary companies and organizations throughout South Florida is a wonderful accomplishment.”

The awards recognize organizations that build the South Florida economy through solid business practices, dedication to their community and financial growth. Now in its 19th year, the awards program highlights excellence across all industries in the South Florida region.
